 Cortes de Cima

 Alentejo - Portugal

The 2011 Incógnito is revisited this issue, seen for the first time stateside. This well-known Syrah was aged for eight months in new French oak. This is a fine Incógnito year. Silky and intensely flavorful, this is beautifully constructed with moderate tannins at this point. It still shows a bit too much oak, but that should continue to moderate. Despite the elegance and silk, it also has a subtle lushness to it and a tasty conclusion that makes it rather sexy. Its upper-level sibling this year, the Reserva, seems a bit more brooding and structured by contrast. They both show great. This is very flavorful and completely delicious.
