The 2021 Parcela Única is an Alvarinho sourced from a specific plot from the Quinta da Torre Quinta da Torre, 5.5 hectares with more boulders, a mixture of alluvial and fluvial terrace, where they also take the riper bunches, the lower ones on the vines. It fermented and matured in new 400-liter oak barrels with a minimal toast, where the wine matured with full lees for nine months. The challenge here is to find an oak that doesn't mark the wine beyond a gentle smoke, and the wine is not oaky at all. In fact, the wine is closed and more reductive, which should mean the wine is going to age well in bottle. He selected this plot because it produces grapes with very good acidity. What I find here is that the wine is vibrant and precise, with purity of flavors and aromas, rich but fresh and with a very long, stony/mineral finish. And it's not oaky! Bravo! 8,000 bottles produced.
