Cies white 2022 | 93 points Penin | Rias Baixas | Spain

An Albarino throwback.  Winemaker Rodrigo Mendez's goal with Cies is to show Albarino in a different light. Named after an island in Rias Baixas, Cies is made the way all Albarino's were made before stainless steel technology was implemented in the 1980's.   Cies is fermented with its own indigenous yeast and aged in old wood vessels without controlling the temperature.  This traditional style of winemaking produces uniquely special Albarino wines.
