The 2017 Encruzado is half aged in stainless steel, the other half for seven months in an equal mixture of new and used French oak. Very dry, it comes in at 14.2% alcohol. Solid in the mid-palate, this is clean, pure and penetrating on the finish. Even now, the wood does not affect this very much. It shows good depth this year, but it is not quite as energetic as in some years. It is still easily capable of aging, and it may yet improve. There were 7,000 bottles produced.
